A voiced alveolar nasal is a consonant created by an alveolar occlusion in the oral cavity. The closure is released nasally . Alveolar sounds are formed by raising the ring of the tongue ( Latin: corōna "tip of the tongue, blade of the tongue") on or against the perineum (against the alveoli).
