• English [ ɾ̺ ] Come in some varieties (.. Va in Canadian and American English) as allophone of [⁠ d ⁠] and [ T, T ] in unstressed syllables.
  • Examples: ri d er / ˈɻaɪ̯ɾ̺ɚ /, be tt er / ˈbɛɾ̺ɚ /
• Spanish [ ɾ̺ ]: r, if it is not at the beginning of a word and does not follow l, n or s .
  • Examples: to r o / ˈtoɾ̺o / "bull"
  • Note: In many dictionaries, the character r is incorrectly used, while the digraph rr denotes the voiced alveolar vibrant .
• Japanese [⁠ ɾ ⁠] as allophones to Come: Lateral [⁠ ɺ ⁠] ( voiced alveolar lateral flap ) ago.
