Teisnach is a market in the Lower Bavarian district of Regen .

geography

Geographical location

Teisnach is located in the Danube Forest region in the Bavarian Forest Nature Park , at the mouth of the Teisnach River in the Black Rain . The Flinzbach flows through part of the municipality . The market town is located about 13 km southeast of Viechtach , 25 km north of Deggendorf and 18 km northwest of the district town of Regen .

history

Until the church is planted

Teisnach used to be a small fishing village on the Schwarzen Regen. The area was first mentioned in a document in 1367, and in 1430 the existence of a mill in Teisnach was recorded in a document. Teisnach belonged to the Straubing Rent Office and the Viechtach Regional Court of the Electorate of Bavaria . The responsibilities here were shared between the Viechtach regional court and the Linden nursing court . In the course of the administrative reforms in the Kingdom of Bavaria , the municipality of 1818 created the municipality of Teisnach, Kaikenried and Sohl.

19th and 20th centuries

After lengthy negotiations, the decision was made to move the parish seat from Geiersthal to Teisnach. The dilapidated parish church of Geiersthal was partially demolished and converted into a cemetery church. Between 1898 and 1900, Johann Baptist Schott built the St. Margareta Church in Teisnach and in 1903 the parish seat was moved from Geiersthal to Teisnach.

The first female mayor was Rita Röhrl ( SPD ) from 1990 to 2017 . She was confirmed in office on March 2, 2008 with 97% and on March 16, 2014 with 89% of the votes. Gerhard Ebnet (Free Voters) has been second mayor since 2014 and Regina Pfeffer (CSU) has been third mayor of Teisnach since 2020. After Röhrl became District Administrator of Regen on December 1, 2017, Gerhard Ebnet temporarily took over the official business. On January 14, 2018 Daniel Graßl (SPD) was elected first mayor with 54.6 percent of the valid votes; the swearing-in took place on February 1, 2018.

The Pfleiderer Spezialpapiere Teisnach paper mill is located in the narrow valley of the Rain River near the mouth of the Teisnach .

In the south-east of the Teisnach is the largest employer in the Regen district with currently approx. 2000 employees, the branch of the Rohde & Schwarz company (measuring equipment and transmitter construction). After the headquarters in Munich with 2,100 employees, this location is just under the company's second largest location.

In the technology campus of Deggendorf University of Applied Sciences, an "optical machine" with "highly precise telescope mirror" was built for space research from October 2012 to 2013. B. on behalf of ESO .

Teisnach has had a train station on the Gotteszell – Blaibach line since 1890 . In 1991, regular passenger traffic was initially discontinued from Viechtach to Blaibach and Gotteszell. Only freight and excursion trains, as well as trains to the depot in Viechtach, ran on the remaining branch.

In September 2016, rail operations were resumed every hour for trial operations. This is carried out by the Länderbahn with the trains of the Waldbahn . In addition to the train station in the center of the village, an additional Teisnach Rohde & Schwarz stop was built south of Teisnach , which, however, is located directly on the municipality border in the municipality of Geiersthal . This is connected to the eponymous factory opposite via a walkway. Originally the name Technologiecampus was intended for this stopping point, which is a little further away from it.

Events

From 2006 to 2008 concerts with international performers took place in the community every year. The wholly owned subsidiary of the market "Kultur in Teisnach GmbH" organized an open-air concert with Peter Maffay in 2006, with Pink in 2007 and with Lenny Kravitz in 2008 . Around 10,000 concertgoers came to each of these concerts. Despite a positive citizen vote, the majority of the council members refused to continue the concerts because of large financial losses.
