The Flinzbach is over six kilometers long brook in eastern Bavaria , which flows into the lower Teisnach on the municipal boundary between Patersdorf and Markt Teisnach in the district of Regen in the Bavarian Forest from the right and a total of about southeast .

The Flinzbach rises near Eckersberg in the municipality of Zachenberg at about 642  m above sea level. NHN and initially flows roughly north, after a few hundred meters changes over to the area of ​​Markt Teisnach and flows through the village of Busmannsried. There it bends on the long northwest run. It passes the hamlet of Triendlmühle and then flows past the church village of Kaikenried on the right . Further down, with only minor deviations, it is Grenzbach to the municipality of Patersdorf , whose area meets it from the left. A little below the hamlet of Neumühle and above the Teisnach village of Wetzelsdorf , it flows from the right at about 457  m above sea level. NHN in the Teisnach , which finally drains into the Black Sea via the Black Rain , the Rain and the Danube .

The Flinzbach is 6.8 km long and flows after a run with a mean bottom gradient of 27 ‰ about 185 meters below its origin.

Catchment area

The Flinzbach drains an 11.6 km² area which, in terms of its natural surroundings , belongs to the lower area of ​​the rain basin of the Upper Palatinate-Bavarian Forest . The largest elevation is the 785  m above sea level. NHN high mountain Rabenholz near the southeastern tip of the catchment area.

The stream is a natural biotope for various insects and fish, which is only partially flanked by agricultural land. About 30% of the stream run in forest areas, another 60% along the forest borders, such as those of the so-called "Upper Woods", "Bannholz" and "Kühholzes". Some walking and hiking trails, such as the Pandurensteig, run along the brook valley around the lower area of ​​the rain basin of the Upper Palatinate-Bavarian Forest natural area . There are also ponds in the vicinity that have arisen from old quartz quarries.
