Boniface VI.
Boniface VI. († April 896 ) was informally appointed Pope in April 896 by the opponents of his predecessor Formosus . He had already lost the office of presbyter because of immoral conduct. His pontificate did not last long, however, he died just 15 days after taking office. It was the third shortest in history, so the year 896 was a tri-papal year .
