Bonn Book Fair Migration
The Bonn book fair Migration is a specialist book fair on migration and interculturality . It offers authors and publishers dealing with the multicultural society a wide audience and media exposure. The concept of the fair was developed by Dr. Hidir Celik developed in 1998 and has continued since then. The organizers of the fair have been the Evangelical Migration and Refugee Work (EMFA) - Integration Agency in the Evangelical Church District Bonn and the Diakonisches Werk Bonn and Region since 2019 . Until 2017, the fair was organized by EMFA / Integration Agency together with the Bonn Institute for Migration Research and Intercultural Learning (BIM) e. V. organizes.
The Bonn book fair Migration took place for the first time in 1998 in the Bonn district of Tannenbusch in the Gustav-Heinemann-Haus. Since 2001 it has taken place every two years. Due to the increased interest, the fair moved to the House of History .
A literary competition has been held at the Bonn Book Fair since 2001. Three juries each award prizes for stories, poetry and children's and youth literature. In addition, the jury members select contributions for an anthology per section.
The book fair receives journalistic support from WDR , NDR , Bonner Generalanzeiger , Deutsche Welle and taz , among others .
Many regional and supra-regional institutions, organizations and authorities are involved in the fair and its financing, such as the city of Bonn, the state of North Rhine-Westphalia , the Evangelical Church in the Rhineland , social organizations such as Amnesty International or Pro Asyl , publishers, literary associations and foundations .
The fair's program is adapted to current political and social developments and events. More than 40 individual events will take place as part of the four-day book fair. The number of visitors is between 4,000 and 5,000. The 11th Bonn Book Fair Migration took place from 23 to 26 November 2017 in the House of History of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bonn.
The 12th Bonn Book Fair Migration will take place from November 21 to 24, 2019 in the House of History of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bonn. The motto of the book fair is: "Shaping diversity - living democracy".
