The Boozefighters MC ( German : Kampftrinker MC ) is an American motorcycle club (based in Fort Worth ). Along with the Gypsy MC and the Outlaws MC, he is one of the oldest MCs in the world. Its history is closely linked to the creation of the name Outlaw Motorcycle Club .

history

The boozefighters was founded in 1946 by the Second World War - veterans founded "Wino" Willie Forkner, George Menker, "Fat Boy" Nelson and Burns Dink. The place of foundation was the All American Café near Watts , Los Angeles . Initially, registration with the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) was attempted, but the organization refused to accept the club under that name. The Boozefighters decided to organize free races, so-called “Outlaw Races” themselves. The club was also known for its rough manners and high alcohol consumption.

Members of the club are said to have been involved in the Hollister riot in 1947, at which an annual AMA event is said to have been stormed by numerous rockers . The incidents, exaggerated by the press, became the founding myth of the rocker movement and later immortalized in the film Der Wilde . Willie Forkner was the film's technical adviser and the character played by Lee Marvin is based on him.

today

The Boozefighters MC is still active today. Its best known members include actors Robert Patrick and Steve-O , who run Chapter 101. There are currently more than 100 chapters in North America and Europe. The Mother Chapter is based in Fort Worth , Texas . The clubhouse there also serves as a museum. The Boozefighter MC does not see itself as an outlaw club today and tries to draw attention to itself through charity events such as annual toy runs .
