Hannspeter Disdorn

Hannspeter Disdorn (* 1934 in Mannheim ; † March 24, 2017 in Bonn ) was a German diplomat who was ambassador to Angola and Albania , among other things .

Life

After graduating from high school , Disdorn studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg , which he completed with the first and second state examinations. During his studies in 1955 he became a member of the student association KDStV Arminia Heidelberg . This was followed by a one-year postgraduate course at the University of Burgundy in Dijon .

On his return he joined the Foreign Service and, after completing his career test for the higher service, was employed as a counselor at the embassy in Japan , where he worked as a consultant for economics and protocol.

After further assignments at the missions abroad in Ireland and Yugoslavia as well as at the headquarters of the Foreign Office in Bonn , he became permanent representative of the ambassador and chargé d'affaires at the embassy in Afghanistan in 1977 . During his activity there until 1980, the Soviet intervention in Afghanistan took place in 1979 . Because of his diplomatic services during this time, he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon .

He then worked again at the headquarters of the Foreign Office before he succeeded Hans-Joachim Dunker as ambassador in Angola in May 1985 and worked there until 1989. He was succeeded by Hans Helmut Freundt in early 1990 .

Disdorn then worked at the embassy in Italy and again at the Foreign Office before he was most recently accredited as ambassador to Albania in 1995 , where he succeeded Claus Vollers . In this function he signed, among other things, on November 5, 1998 the agreement between the government of the Federal Republic of Germany and the government of the Republic of Albania on financial cooperation and rural water supply for Kavaja ( Federal Law Gazette 1999 II p. 30 ). After four years of service, he was finally retired in 1999 , while Peter Kiewitt succeeded him as ambassador to Albania.

After retiring, he settled in Herrischried -Wehrhalden and was involved in the municipality's tourism committee from 2000 to 2005. In addition, he worked as a foreign representative of the Malteser Hilfsdienst in the Archdiocese of Freiburg , and acted as the deputy chairman of a support association for a business school for girls in Kabul .
