The Boreas Peak is a 670 m high Nunatak at the Rymill Coast to the west of the West Antarctic Palmer Lands . It rises on the northern flank of the mouth of the Eureka Glacier in the George VI Sound . The Nunatak marks the mostly best ascent route from George VI Sound to the Eureka Glacier.
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1977 after Boreas , the personification of the wintry north wind from Greek mythology .
