Boreisch

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Boreisch (from Boréas , the personification of the winter north wind in Greek mythology ) is an outdated term for north . Hyperborean means: over / beyond / north of the north / the arctic circle, around the north pole . Accordingly, Hyperborea was considered a mythical country in the north.

From the point of view of ancient geographers, the far north was an unknown, legendary, numinous area. Even today, the adjective hyperborean is used in connection with mystical - "Nordic" - Aryan racial ideologies .

The hypothetical Eurasian or even global original language is called Boreisch , Nostratisch or Meroitisch .
