The Eurasische Magazin is a German-language online magazine that deals with developments in politics , society and culture on the entire Eurasian continent. The magazine has been published by the Eurasischer Verlag in Altomünster since 2002 . The editor in charge is Hans Wagner. The magazine works with German and foreign academics and journalists who specialize in Russia, the CIS countries and other countries in the "Eurasian" region. All articles are freely accessible.

The magazine initially appeared monthly, then for some time every two months. On February 10, 2014, the editorial team lifted the rigid publication interval and switched to the constant publication of current articles.

Guideline

From the magazine's editorial : “The online magazine wants to raise awareness that the Eurasian continent beyond the Oder, Bosporus and Urals is far from over. She wants to bring Europe and Asia together. The Eurasian Magazine has therefore set itself the task of reporting on developments across the continent. We want to convey the fascination for the almost inexhaustible cultural richness of Eurasia and sharpen the attention of our readers for how one-sided the culture on the largest territory on earth is currently oriented towards the USA. "

content

The magazine reports on the successor states of the Soviet Union , with a focus on Russia. The topics deal with politics, society and culture in the countries of Eastern Europe and Asia. The magazine contains interviews, commentaries, advice, book reviews, illustrations and photos. Current reports on the target region Eurasia appear in the Eurasia ticker.

The Eurasian magazine reports on events in the European-Asian metropolitan area. A special section was devoted to the events in Ukraine, which were reported in a chronicle and a live ticker with photo and film material from Ukrainian channels. The Ukrainian presidential elections on May 25, 2014 were also documented. In view of the escalation of the situation in Ukraine, the live ticker was resumed in September 2014.
