Kladky (German Rom , also Kladek ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located 18 kilometers southeast of Moravská Třebová in the Drahaner Bergland and belongs to the Okres Prostějov .
geography
Kladky is located in the north of the Drahaner Bergland in the headwaters of the Věžnice river. Neighboring towns are Ospělov in the northeast, Milkov, Dětkovice and Ludmírov in the east, Chobyně in the southwest, Nectava and Březinky in the west and Ošíkov, Trpín and Vysoká in the northwest.
history
The place was first mentioned as Roma in 1320 in a document from the Diocese of Olomouc . Roma was a diocese fiefdom belonging to the ecclesiastical province of Mohelnice . It is believed that the name Rome derives from the fact that the original settlement was built on several hills.
In the course of the 19th century, the population of Kladky increased sharply. While 603 people lived in the village in 1793, in 1834 there were already 918. The town had the highest population in 1910 with 1273 people. Since then, that number has dropped to a quarter in a hundred years. The main reasons for this were the remoteness, lack of industry and jobs. The majority of the houses are now used as holiday homes.

No districts are shown for the municipality of Kladky. Basic settlement units are Bělá, Kladky ( Rome ) and Ošíkov-Trpín. Ošíkov-Trpín consists of the settlements Ošíkov ( Ossakow ) and Trpín ( Terpin ).
