Dobrochov (German Dobrochau ) is a municipality with 271 inhabitants in the Czech Republic, it is located ten km south of Prostějov at 270 m above sea level. M. at the European route 462 and belongs to the Okres Prostějov . The community area is 252 ha.

history

Dochrochov was first mentioned in a document in 1337. The fire brigade was founded in 1937.

The Předina (312 m) east of Dobrochov is the location of a former medium wave transmitter (954 kHz) of the Czech radio. At the transmitter site, the Dobrochau transmitter was set up by the Nazis in the network of the " Deutsche Europa-Sender " (DES). The Czech radio station could also be received in Germany , Lower Austria and Hungary during the night . A 152-meter-high, free-standing lattice steel tower is used as the transmitting antenna. There is also a 55 meter high guyed steel lattice mast. Medium-wave broadcasting has been discontinued since the beginning of the 21st century, and from around 2010 the location will only be used by the private station Rádio Dechovka (brass music) with 5 kW output at 1233 kHz (synchronous network).

Since January 2016, all medium-wave transmitters of the Czech Radio, including Prague Liblice (639 kHz) and Dobrochov (954 kHz) have been broadcasting the Český rozhlas Dvojka (2nd program) continuously .
