Horní Štěpánov ( Stefansdorf ) is a Czech municipality in Okres Prostějov ( Proßnitz district ) in the Olomouc region . Horní Štěpánov has an area of 20 km². 945 people live in the community (as of January 1, 2014).
location
Horní Štěpánov is located about 25 kilometers west of Prostějov and 34 km west of Olomouc . After Prague it is 181 km to the west. The place is in the middle of a triangle of the state roads 366 (seven km to the northeast), 373 (three km to the south) and 374 (four km to the west).
history
The first written mention of the village comes from the year 1275. Until 1948 the place belonged to the Jevíčko District Court , then to the Moravian Trübau District until 1960 and then to the Boskovice District . Now it is connected to the Prostejov District in the Olomouc Region.
