Srbce (German Sirbitz ) is a municipality in Okres Prostějov in Olomoucký kraj in the Czech Republic .
geography
Srbce is located about 60 km from the Czech-Slovak border and about 45 km northeast of Brno . The community has 89 inhabitants (2002) and extends over an area of 1.59 km². Srbce is located at an altitude of 280 meters above sea level. The next larger municipality is Němčice nad Hanou . Like 16 other small communities, Srbce belongs to the Němčicko microregion.
history
The oldest mention of Srbce from 1131 shows Srbce as the property of the Olomouc Church. The charter of foundation was probably applied in the administrative castle in Olomouc, which administered the region at that time. In the second half of the 19th century, Srbce became an independent municipality.
