Český rozhlas ( ČRo , German: Czech broadcasting ) is the public broadcasting company in the Czech Republic . It emerged in 1993 from the Czechoslovak Radio ( Československý rozhlas ).
Český rozhlas was also the name of the former Czechoslovak Radio in the time of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia .
Programs
Český rozhlas broadcasts the following radio programs:
- ČRo - Radiožurnál (pop music, news and information, interviews, sports, transport, religious and minority programs). nationwide on VHF and on LW via the Topolna transmitter , formerly the most popular transmitter in the Czech Republic
- ČRo - Dvojka (entertainment, talk & comedy, and oldies), nationwide on VHF and MW on 639 kHz
- ČRo - Vltava (culture, classical music, jazz, literary programs), nationwide on VHF
- ČRo - Radio Wave (youth program, alternative music), on the air since January 13, 2006, since September 1, 2008 only digitally via DVB-T, DAB +, on the Internet and in cable networks.
- ČRo regional programs (Brno, České Budějovice, Plzeň, Ostrava, Olomouc, Hradec Králové, Pardubice, Karlovy Vary, Liberec, Zlín, Vysočina, Sever, Region) (folk music and oldies, comedy, regional news) - main program for eleven regional programs (on FM, partly via DAB +)
- ČRO Rádio DAB Praha hits in DAB +
- On March 1, 2013, ČRo Plus (Information) replaced ČRo 6. Nationwide via MW and since November 2, 2015 also via some VHF frequencies.
- ČRo 7 - Radio Praha (international broadcasting in German, English, French, Russian, Spanish and Czech) via satellite and internet.
The Czech Radio broadcasts the following additional digital programs:
- ČRo D major (Classical Music)
- ČRo Jazz (jazz music, on the air since March 1, 2013)
- ČRo Rádio Junior (children's program, on air since March 1, 2013)
- ČRo Sport (sports broadcast program)
- ČRo Retro (temporary special program for broadcasts from the Czech Radio Archives)
- Rádio DAB Praha (local program for Prague, service and pop music)
Set programs:
- ČRo 6 (features, word program) - successor to Radio Free Europe (Radio Liberty) since 2002 , 6 p.m. to midnight on medium wave, discontinued on February 28, 2013 and replaced by ČRo Plus.
- ČRo Leonardo (educational program, discontinued on February 28, 2013)
- Rádio Česko (information, was also partially transmitted via VHF, discontinued on February 28, 2013)
