Topolná (German: Pappelsdorf ) is a municipality with 1585 inhabitants in Okres Uherské Hradiště in Moravia , Czech Republic . It is located nine kilometers northeast of Uherské Hradiště and has a cadastral area of 1038 ha.
geography
The place is 192 m above sea level. M. on the edge Marc Hebene three kilometers on the right side of the river. The Březnice flows southwest . Neighboring towns are Prusínky and Komárov in the north, Březolupy in the east, Nedachlebice in the south-east, Bílovice and Včelary in the south, Kněžpole in the south-west, across the river Huštěnovice and Babice in the west and Spytihněv in the north-west.
history
Topolná was first mentioned in 1318 in the course of the transfer of ownership from the Lords of Neuhaus to the Diocese of Olomouc . The Wartenbergs on Napajedla bought the village in 1580 for their rule. During the Thirty Years War the place was looted and partially destroyed. Topolná remained subordinate to Napajedl until the patrimonial rule was replaced.
The residents lived from agriculture and fruit growing, and in 1910 a schnapps distillery was established. In 1951 the Czechoslovak Radio set up a transmitter.
The tradition of cymbal music is maintained in Topolná .

Transmitter

To the west of Topolná on the Burava brook, the Czech Radio (Czech: Český rozhlas ) operates its central long-wave transmitter on the frequency of 270 kHz. When transmit antennas come vertical traps are used, each 257 meters high at two grounded , guyed lattice steel masts are mounted. The use of two transmission masts ensures a main beam direction in east-west direction in order to optimally cover the area of the Czech Republic and Slovakia . The Topolná transmitter went into operation in 1951. From 1975 to 1978 it was modernized and brought to an output of 1500 kilowatts. Today Topolná broadcasts the program of "CRo 1 - Radiožurnál" with only 50 kilowatts of transmission power.
