A vertical trap is a transmitting antenna for long , medium and short wave , which consists of a guyed mast or a free-standing tower, which is earthed or insulated from earth as required , and on the outside of which insulated wires are stretched on an annular expansion element run parallel to the mast or tower construction. These wires are fed with the high frequency to be emitted . There are also vertical traps, which consist of several isolated trap sections . With multiple feeds, they enable, for example, the construction of a fading-reducing transmitting antenna .
