The Borkoldoi ( Kyrgyz Борколдой кырка тоо ) is a mountain range in the southeast of Kyrgyzstan .
The Borkoldoi is a mountain range in the Inner Tien Shan in Central Asia . The mountains, which are glaciated on the northern slopes , have a length in west-east direction of 100 km and an average height of 4,300 m . The largest elevation is in the western part and reaches a height of 5049 m . It was named in honor of the Catalan mountaineer Martí Gasull i Roig, who died in 2012 on Manaslu . The Kainar drains the mountains to the southeast. The Üsönggükuusch flows along the southern flank. The 13.3 km² large Jagalmai glacier feeds the Chakyrkorum , which drains the western part of the mountains towards the Great Naryn . The Borkoldoi consists of crystalline mica slate as well as marble and granite . The mountain slopes are characterized by a semi-desert landscape. Rocks and rubble dominate the high altitudes. There is a sparse xerophyte vegetation.
