Boro 001

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Boro 001 is the name of a British Formula 1 racing car that was registered for individual Formula 1 races in 1976 and 1977 .

The Boro 001 was developed by the British Ensign team in 1975 and one copy was produced. In the 1975 Formula 1 season, the car was used under the name Ensign N175 by the Ensign team in a number of Formula 1 world championship races. The drivers were Roelof Wunderink and Chris Amon .

After a legal dispute with the previous sponsor of the team, Ensign had to cede the car to the sponsor, the Dutch security company HB Bewaking Systems. The sponsor then founded his own Formula 1 team called HB Bewaking Systems in the Dutch municipality of Bovenkerk , which used the technically unchanged car - now under the name Boro 001 - in 1976 with Larry Perkins and in 1977 with Brian Henton for individual Formula 1 races reported.

In some statistics, not only the car, but also the team itself is listed under the name Boro.
