The Borre Sømose ( German  Borre Seemoor ) is located north of Borre on the Danish island of Moen in the vordingborg municipality and is a former Fjord , which today Moor is.

Borremose , of roughly the same name, is a raised bog in western Himmerland , in northern Jutland , where two bog bodies were found: the husband and wife of Borremose .

In the Neolithic Age , the water level in the Baltic Sea was higher, so that deep fjords penetrated the land, as was the case at Borre, where the fjord, which silted up in the 16th century, is clearly visible in the landscape. There are numerous remains of the Kongemose and Ertebølle cultures by the fjord . They are located on the former edge of the fjord and on small islands in the fjord.

Sydsjællands Museum excavated several settlements called Ålebæk I-III in the 1990s. They came from the late Congemose culture and the early Ertebølle culture. The excavations have shown that there are some well-preserved cultural layers in the former fjord. Part of the bog is below sea level and is drained through a system of canals and a pumping station.
