Borys Buryak

Borys Buryak ( Ukrainian Борис Буряк ) (born October 25, 1953 in the village of Podvirne , Novoselytsia district , Chernivtsi Oblast ) is a Ukrainian painter. He lives and works in Lviv , Ukraine, where he runs a private school for drawing and painting.

In 1974 he graduated from the I. Trusz art school and studied at the Academy of Arts in Lviv until 1979. He is a prize winner of the Artists' Union of Ukraine in 1991 and the international competition “New Names” in Moscow (1992). Since 1986 he has been involved in national and international exhibitions, among others in: Lviv, Rzeszów (Poland), New York, Lyon, Metz, Angere (France), Kiev (Ukraine), Moscow, Vienna, Brussels, Falkenburd (Netherlands), Aachen, Dortmund, Munich, Wachtberg - Berkum (Germany) and Prague. In 1998 he took part in an exhibition in the Siegen University Library.

Works by Borys Buryak can be found in numerous museums in Ukraine, as well as in private collections in Ukraine, Russia, USA, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. In August 2009 a retrospective of his works took place in the National Museum of Lviv.
