The Bosch BKK is an open company health insurance fund based in Stuttgart. As a health insurance company , it is a corporation under public law .

history

The Bosch BKK was founded in 1953. In 1992 the Bosch BKK merged with the Bosch company health insurance fund Blaichach and the company health insurance funds of Robert Bosch Fahrzeugelektrik Eisenach GmbH, ANT Nachrichtenentechnik Radeberg GmbH and Telenorma Leipzig GmbH. In 1994 it was merged with the Reutlingen company health insurance fund and in 1996 with the BKK Feierabend. With the introduction of the right to a free choice of health insurance, the Bosch BKK opened up to all those with statutory health insurance. The opening applies to all federal states with the exception of Bremen and Schleswig-Holstein. In 2008, the Bosch BKK merged with the BKK Württembergische Sisterhood of the Red Cross.

As a health insurance company, Bosch BKK is a self-governing body under public law. In addition to the company's headquarters in Stuttgart, the cash register has 22 branches nationwide. In 2018, the fund has around 360 employees and 222,000 insured persons, of which approx. 161,000 are members. Bosch BKK also looks after around 26,000 corporate customers. The expenses of the Bosch BKK in 2015 amounted to around 550 million euros.

Contribution rates

Since January 1, 2009 the contribution rates have been standardized by the legislator. Bosch BKK has been charging an additional contribution of 0.9 percent since January 1, 2016.

Board of Directors

The board of directors of Bosch BKK consists of 15 representatives of the insured and 8 representatives of the employers . Both sides have the same number of votes. The chairmen of the board of directors are alternately Udo Lutz (employee representative) and Uwe Schirmer (employer representative for Robert Bosch GmbH ).
