Boschidar Petkov

Boschidar Stefanow Petkow ( Bulgarian Божидар Стефанов Петков ; born July 29, 1940 in Gabrovo , Bulgaria ; † May 14, 2015 in Sofia , Bulgaria) was a Bulgarian composer .

Life

Boschidar Stefanow Petkow completed his music studies with Krzysztof Penderecki and Stanisław Wiechowicz at the Krakow Music Academy in 1965 . He then worked from 1968 to 1984 at Radio Sofia and from 1984 to 1990 at the Copyright Authority. During this time, Petkow wrote and composed music for several theatrical performances and feature films, for which he received national and international awards. Later he turned back more to the classic genres. He left u. a. three oratorios, several orchestral works, including a symphony and a piano concerto, as well as chamber, piano and vocal music.
