Guus Ponsioen

Guus Ponsioen (born March 27, 1951 in Alphen aan den Rijn ) is a Dutch singer and composer . After studying theater, he first worked for Dutch cabaret . He set texts and poems by numerous Dutch authors such as Willem Wilmink , Jan Boerstoel , Ivo de Wijs , Ad de Bont , Suzanne van Lohuizen and Heleen Verburg to music . Later he concentrated on music for children's and youth theater .

Works

As the main composer for the Dutch theater group Wederzijds, he created the music for the pieces, among other things

  • The special life of Hilletje Jans (1983/84),
  • The ballad of Garuma (1988/89),
  • Hitler's childhood (1991/92),
  • Transit (1995),
  • Swans always look so new (1987/88) and
  • The Seed Showers (2004).

In Germany he worked with Dieter Kümmel and the Freiburg Children's and Youth Theater , for which we created productions

  • Stellaluna (Charlotte Martins Theater, Seattle USA, 1997),
  • Alone in the world ( Antwerp , 1998),
  • Perô or the secrets of the night (arrangement and music, 1994),
  • the comic opera for children Three old men who did not want to die (based on the play by Suzanne van Lohuizen , Amsterdam 1999).
