Location of Göhren in Bavaria

Göhren is a district of the town of Pappenheim in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen .

The street perch village , surrounded by fields and mixed forests, is located on the Jura plateau , just under 3 kilometers northeast of Pappenheim. The district roads WUG 11 and WUG 12 connect it with the surrounding villages.

The place was founded in 1288 by Marshal Heinrich V. von Pappenheim on the old Roman road . Together with the three other Grafendörfern Geislohe , Neudorf and Osterdorf it was created as a clearing village.

On May 1, 1978, the previously independent community was incorporated into the city of Pappenheim.

The defining characteristic of Göhren is the Hüll , a pond in the center of the village.

The parish fair takes place every year on the first weekend in September.
