history

Ochsenhart was created around 1200 by the marshals of Pappenheim with 12 original fiefs . The structure that was planned in the Middle Ages has been completely preserved to this day.

In the geographical, statistical-topographical lexicon of Franconia (1801) the place is described as follows: “Ochsenhard, very Eichstättischer, hamlet of 13 subjects belonging to the Mernsheim care and caste office in the middle Hochstifte, who are divided into full and half-wage earners. It is the same two hours northeast of Mernsheim, on the mountain between Schönfeld, which is half an hour, and Bißwang, which is an hour. "

With the community edict (19th century), Ochsenhart became a politically independent community. On July 1, 1972, the place was initially incorporated into Bieswang , which came on May 1, 1978 with its districts to Pappenheim.
