Location of Neudorf in Bavaria

Neudorf is a district of the town of Pappenheim in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen .

The street tangler village , which dates back to the 13th century, is located at a height of the Franconian Alb , about 4.5 kilometers northeast of Pappenheim. The district road WUG 12 runs through the village.

Together with the three other so-called count villages , Neudorf was created as a clearing village by Marshal Heinrich V von Pappenheim towards the end of the 13th century .

On May 1, 1978, the previously independent community was incorporated into the city of Pappenheim.

In the village green there are public buildings such as the former village school, the church and the fire station as well as the historic Zehentstadel with its slate roof .

In addition to the St. Jakobus church, which was built in the 15th century, the wide range of historical south-central Franconian building forms is worth seeing. See also the list of architectural monuments in Neudorf

There are numerous sinkholes in the Neudorf area .
