Location of Osterdorf in Bavaria

Osterdorf is a district of the town of Pappenheim in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen .

The street perch village is located on the Jura plateau , about 2.5 kilometers northwest of Pappenheim. An axis extending through the town municipal road leading to the south-western county road WUG 11 . To the northwest is the Osterdorfer Loch sinkhole field .

The place was probably created in the middle of the 13th century on a Roman elevated road together with the three other so-called count villages by Marshal Heinrich V von Pappenheim as a clearing village. Originally it had 25 original loans . Its structure is still largely preserved.

With the community edict at the beginning of the 19th century, Osterdorf became a politically independent community. It was incorporated into the city of Pappenheim on May 1, 1978 as part of the municipal reform.
