Boshan

Boshan ( Chinese  博山区 , Pinyin Bóshān Qū ) is a municipality in the Chinese province of Shandong . It belongs to the administrative area of ​​the district-free city of Zibo . Boshan has an area of ​​682 km² and has a population of 473,000 (2003).

location

Boshan District is located in the southwest of Zibo City. It is bordered by the Zichuan District to the north, Linqu County to the east, Yiyuan County to the south, Laiwu County to the southwest and the provincial capital Jinan to the northwest .

58.1% of the district area is covered with forest .

history

Boshan was founded relatively late as an independent city. It developed into an important center for the production of pottery and glassware and was given the right to collect its own taxes in the 16th century due to its wealth. In 1734 it was so developed that it became an independent circle .

In 1955, Boshan was merged with Zichuan to form the city of Zibo, until 1961 the administrative center was in Boshan.

At the community level, the district is made up of two street districts and eleven large communities.

In 2016, the district had a gross domestic product of 36.7 billion yuan and an average growth rate of 6.6%. The public budget was 2.31 billion yuan.
