Zichuan
Zichuan ( Chinese 淄川 区 , Pinyin Zīchuān Qū ) is a Chinese municipality in Shandong Province . It belongs to the administrative area of the district-free city of Zibo . Zichuan has an area of 999.065 km² and has a population of 672,500 (2003).
location
The district is located in the center of the city of Zibo between 117 ° 41 'and 118 ° 14' east longitude and 36 ° 22 'to 36 ° 45' north latitude . It is bordered by the Boshan District in the south, the city of Zhangqiu in the west, the three connected districts of Zhoucun , Zhangdian and Linzi in the north, the independent city of Qingzhou in the east and the Linqu and Yiyuan districts in the southeast . Its extension from east to west is 49 km, from north to south it is 42 km.
history
Before the merger with Boshan, Zichuan was an old, independent city and administrative center. In the second century BC Banyang County was formed in the area, which ceased to be in force in the 3rd century AD and reappeared under the name of Beiqiu in the 5th century. In 598 he was named Zichuan after the administrative seat of the same name. The city benefited from its favorable location on a trade route that led from the northern edge of the Tai Shan over the mountains into the valley through Boshan.
