The company Bosnalijek, farmaceutska i hemijska industrija (German: Bosnalijek, pharmaceutical and chemical industry), or simply: Bosnalijek , is a Bosnian company in the pharmaceutical industry. Bosnalijek employed 720 people in the 2018 financial year and at that time was the largest pharmaceutical company in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The company was founded in 1951 and sold drugs under license from various pharmaceutical manufacturers such as Asta-Werke (now part of Evonik Industries ), Nattermann (part of Sanofi ), Byk Gulden (part of Takeda ) and Upjohn (part of Pfizer ). The product range was greatly expanded in the following decades through in-house developments. An EU GMP certification has existed since 2003 , which the European Union opened as a market.
Bosnalijek has appeared in the past as a shirt sponsor of the football clubs FK Željezničar Sarajevo and FK Velež Mostar .
