Boss Hoss is a company based in Dyersburg , Tennessee , USA .

history

The manufacturer of individually built motorcycles was founded in 1990 by Monte Warne . From Monte Warnes small shop was a large manufacturing facility, which today motorcycles using Chevrolet - eight-cylinder - cars - motors on an area of 770 m² in series manufacturing.

With a total weight of sometimes over 500 kg (the engines alone weigh over 250 kg), these motorcycles are extremely heavy. The production is mostly done by hand, with only V8 engines with a displacement between 5.7 liters and 8.2 liters being installed. In Germany the prices are between 45,800 € (5700 cm³) and 75,500 € (8200 cm³). Basically, the machines can be driven like any other motorcycle; this is ensured by a semi-automatic single-speed gearbox with overdrive and one reverse gear connected to the engine via a torque converter . The center of gravity of the machines is low.

The first machines were called Boss Hog and were presented under this name at various bike shows. Since the name HOG is protected by Harley-Davidson in the USA (Harley Owners Group), an order to rename the company was obtained against the company's founder, Mont Warne. The name Boss Hog had already got around; In order not to deviate too much from it, Boss Hoss was chosen in mid-1991.
