The Bourke's Luck Potholes ( English , in German: Bourkes Glück Strudellöcher ) are a rock unit on the Panorama Route in the Mpumalanga Province in eastern South Africa , near Graskop on the R532.

At the confluence of the Treur River in the Blyde River , the erosion of the flowing water in the red sandstone has created a canyon that merges into the Blyde River Canyon . Further erosion , in particular the movement of stones in vortices , has cut deep vortex holes and kettles into the rock.

The sight was named after the gold prospector Tom Bourke, who found a small amount of gold at this location (the associated gold vein, however, was outside of his claim).
