Bourn Castle

Bourn Castle is an Outbound castle in the village of Bourn , about 16 kilometers west of Cambridge , in the English county of Cambridgeshire .

It consisted of wooden buildings on an earthwork enclosure and was built in Norman times, at the end of the reign of William the Conqueror (1066-1087). During the reign of King Henry III. (1216–1272), in the first war of the barons , it was burned down.

Bourn Hall was built on part of the site in the early 16th century .
