Bovo III. († 948 ) was Abbot of Corvey from 942 to 948 .

He was a relative of Otto I. He had the reputation of a learned and wise man. Adam von Bremen mentions an author with this name who wrote a paper about the events of his time. Possibly it was this Bovo, but Bovo I. and even Bovo II. Were also named as authors .

He was often at peace as well as on military expeditions near Otto. He acquired properties in Hessengau for the monastery . In 945 Otto I. Meppen , which then belonged to the monastery, granted minting and customs rights. A short time later there was market justice and independence from secular jurisdiction.
