Boxed
Boxed comes from English and means the state is that something in a "box" or "box" (eng. Box ) is.
In the PC sector, processors are referred to as boxed , which are sold in their original packaging and usually with a suitable cooler , installation instructions and (if required) thermal pad or thermal paste . Manufacturers sometimes give longer warranty periods for such products . Some high-end processors - for example, the 95-watt models of the first generation AMD Ryzen - are boxed without cooler (Engl. Without fan , short WOF) sold. In particular, there is often no boxed version of server models, just like OEM models that have come into retail . In addition to boxed, there is also the tray sales form (meaning the packaging in a transparent or neutral box that is just large enough). In Germany, boxed versions (if available) are offered more frequently and often cheaper than trays , despite the accessories they contain . Apart from CPUs, the term retail is used instead of boxed , while tray corresponds to bulk .
