The Boydell Glacier is a 15 km long glacier in Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula . It flows from the Detroit Plateau in a southeastern direction to the southern flank of the Sjögren Glacier .
The Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey mapped it based on its own measurements between 1960 and 1961. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it on February 12, 1964 after the British inventor James John Boydell (1803-1859), who developed the first functioning tracked vehicle and for this Holds patents in 1846 and 1854.
