history

The Brühlgut Foundation was founded in 1979 on the initiative of the Northern Switzerland regional group by insieme celebral and the parents' association "Association for the promotion of mentally handicapped people in the Winterthur and Andelfingen region". The trigger for the foundation was the creation of living spaces for people with disabilities. The workshops Ackeret, Strahlegg and Töss (Stationsstrasse and Konradstrasse), which already exist in Winterthur, as well as the therapy center for children have now been brought together under the umbrella of the Brühlgut Foundation. In 1982, the foundation was able to move into its headquarters at Brühlbergstrasse 6, which was built in 1978 after a successful referendum by the Winterthur electorate. The main building houses the administration, sheltered workplaces, living rooms, the therapy center for children and a separate school indoor pool. The building, which cost around 15 million francs, was built between 1980 and 1982.

The first two outdoor living groups were built in 1993 and 1995. 1996, the office was agogics created. One year later, the Strahlegg and Ackeret external workshops are closed and relocated to the Rieter premises on Klosterstrasse in Töss . In the same year, the new areas of economics and studios were added to the previous therapy, workshops and living departments. In 2000 the "sZäni" shop was opened on Oberen Graben in the old town of Winterthur , where goods made by the disabled are sold.

The Wyden multi-purpose building in the Hardau district ( Wülflingen district ) was opened in 2001 near the Niderfeld development area . This houses, among other things, a public café, dormitories and the laundry. In the same year, a social service was opened in collaboration with Pro Infirmis . In 2003 the foundation was certified by the Federal Social Insurance Office . In 2005, the Haltreben house in Wülflingen was opened for people with difficult behavior. On June 1, 2008, the foundation took over the restaurant in the Neumarkt retirement home in the old town on a lease from the city of Winterthur.

The foundation is strategically managed by an 11-member board of trustees , three of which form the committee. The operational management itself is subordinate to a three-person management, each of which is assigned a department (finance / support, living / studio / therapy and work).
