Brabham BT21

The Brabham BT21 was a formula racing car that Brabham built in large numbers in 1966 and delivered to privateers; 110 vehicles were produced.
Most were Formula 3 cars, some were built for the US Formula B and were given the designation 21B . The cars for the Formule Libre ran under the registration number 21C .
The first BT21s hit the international racetracks in 1966. The chassis was flatter than the BT18 , the suspension was revised and the body completely rebuilt. The engines used were a Cosworth MAE engine with 125 hp in 1966 and 1967 and a Holbay unit in 1968.
Private drivers like Peter Westbury with his Felday Engineering Ltd. had great success with the BT21 in 1967. In 1968 the BT21 became a serious opponent with the new Tecno and the victories in Formula 3 became fewer.
The BT21B has therefore seen some changes. The car got wider wheels and a more stable tubular space frame, which came from the BT23 , a Formula 2 car. This eliminated the shortcomings. In 1969 the BT21 was slowly replaced by the BT28 .
