The Brachmühle was a vacant area in Vienna - Floridsdorf .

history

Up until the 20th century, this was the site of Plant 20 of the defensive lines built in the course of the German War in northeastern Vienna.

The 30,000 m² area was sold in 2005 by the SET project development company to the client Georg Stumpf, who wanted to build a complex with apartments, shops and leisure activities based on the example of his Millennium Tower . Despite the building permit, the project was not implemented for years.

In the spring of 2008 the fallow mill was occupied and the site was to be "returned to the population". Furthermore, the creation of "non-commercial open spaces" was called for.

By spring 2015, 58 privately financed condominiums, 322 subsidized rental apartments as well as 613 m² office space and a shopping center with around 43 shops had been built under the project name Citygate .

location

The area is located in the area of Aderklaaer Straße , Seyringer Straße , Julius-Ficker-Straße and Holzmannweg . To the west it is directly adjacent to the Aderklaaer Straße subway station on the U1 line .
