Brachyarthrum limitatum is a species of bug from the family of soft bugs (Miridae).

features

The bugs are 4.3 to 4.8 millimeters long. They are characteristically colored and show a sexual dichroism . The females are orange-brown and have a black head, whereas the males are uniformly black-brown. The antennae are always completely black or dark red, the legs are yellow-orange.

Occurrence and habitat

The species is distributed throughout Europe except in the south. In the east, the distribution extends to Central Asia. In Germany the species has only been found sporadically, more frequently in the north than in the south. There are only two historical records in Austria.

Way of life

The bugs live on aspen ( Populus tremula ) and there presumably feed on both aphids and leaf beetle larvae . Adult bedbugs can be seen from early June to early August. One generation is trained every year.
