Brad Blanton

W. Brad Blanton (born September 4, 1940 ) is an American psychotherapist who ran twice for election to the United States House of Representatives .

Life

Brad Blanton graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1966 and then practiced as a psychotherapist for 25 years . In 1990 he founded Radical Honesty Enterprises to promote more honesty in the world . In his first book Radical Honesty: How To Transform Your Life By Telling The Truth , which translated into several languages and became a bestseller, he enters (English: the concept of "radical honesty" "radical honesty" ) one. This concept is the core of his therapeutic and coaching work and the programmatic basis of his political commitment. In the 2004 congressional elections , Blanton ran in the seventh district of Virginia as a non-party candidate against Republican Eric Cantor and lost with 24% of the vote. His renewed candidacy in the 2006 elections he finally withdrew and asked his supporters to instead elect the Democrat Jim Nachman, who also lost to Cantor.

Blanton now lives in Stanley , Virginia, and is a member of the Independent Greens of Virginia party .
