Brades (also Brades Estate ) since 1998 in fact the capital of the British overseas territory of Montserrat . Brades has 449 inhabitants (as of 2011).

After a series of eruptions of the Soufrière Hills volcano , which began on July 18, 1995, the actual capital Plymouth was abandoned in 1997.
