Bramac Dachsysteme International GmbH is a pan-European company with headquarters in Pöchlarn ( Austria ). The company is owned by the Braas Monier Building Group . Bramac offers complete roof systems and produces the associated concrete roof tiles itself . In Austria, the group operates a second production facility in Gaspoltshofen ( Upper Austria ) and a distribution warehouse in Gleisdorf ( Styria ) in addition to the head office . A sand mill in Lackenbach ( Burgenland ) is also part of the company.

Bramac operates eleven Dachstein factories in Central and Eastern Europe, around 900 employees generated sales of over 113 million euros in 2010. To date, more than 3.83 billion roof tiles have been produced.

history

  • The company was founded in 1966 by Rudolf Braas and Hofman & Maculan at the Pöchlarn location. The name is derived from the letters BRA (Braas) and MAC (Maculan).
  • In 1969 Wienerberger acquired 50% of the company's shares after Hofman & Maculan left the company.
  • In 1973 the company built a second plant in Gaspoltshofen .

  • In 1984 Bramac started in Central and Eastern Europe with the first joint venture in Hungary.
  • In 1991 the branches in the Czech Republic and Slovenia were founded .

The Institute for Building Biology and Building Ecology checks roofing materials holistically - that is, from the extraction of raw materials, through production, transport routes, processing and service life to disposal, and awards the IBO certificate for this. BRAMAC has been entitled to use this award since 1999.
