Branch Metrics is an open source platform that offers deep linking solutions for mobile app developers . With the help of appropriate software development kits (SDKs) for web, iOS or Android , developers can generate targeted smart links to content within an app. With the help of these links, context data can be preserved through the installation process of an app in order to increase the conversion and the engagement of app users through a personalized approach . The solutions ultimately serve to improve user acquisition and retention. The dashboard solution also provided by Branch Metrics enables the evaluation of user behavior, virality , campaign successes and customer values . The collected data can be used to create individual analysis reports to measure organic growth and ROI of various campaign activities.

The contextual deep linking developed and named by Branch Metrics is used here. A click on a linked content in a non-installed app leads the user to the respective page in the App Store. After the download, the user is automatically directed to the relevant content. In order to be able to carry out this process seamlessly, a digital fingerprint of the user is generated when the link is clicked, containing the source and destination. As soon as this user opens the corresponding app for the first time, he is assigned his fingerprint and the corresponding destination address. Thanks to this "fingerprint matching", the user can be navigated to his destination.

history

Branch Metrics was founded in June 2014 by Alex Austin, Mike Molinet, Mada Seghete and Dmitri Gaskin. Austin, Molinet and Segethe met in the MBA program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and initially developed Kindred Prints, a mobile app for sharing and printing photos. The technical hurdles in addressing and acquiring users, such as the inability to share content with new users during the installation process, convinced them of the need for an improved solution for mobile deep linking. They sold Kindred and began building Branch Metrics with the addition of Dmitri Gaskin.

Branch metrics went through in the first few months of its creation, the StartX -Accelerator program of Stanford University . The company has since been funded by more than $ 17 million in venture capital from NEA, Greylock Partners, Redpoint Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Pejman Mar Ventures and Ben Narasin, among others.
