The house Brandgasse 3 is a listed building in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

It is located on the Schlossberg , south of Quedlinburg's old town in the Westendorf district in Brandgasse, which is just 1.50 meters wide and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site . Immediately to the south, the building, which is also listed, is adjacent to Brandgasse 2 . The building is registered as a residential building in the Quedlinburg monument register.

Architecture and history

The small two-story half - timbered house was built by the carpenter Andreas Rühle in 1707 according to a building inscription . According to the records of local history researcher Adolf Brinkmann from 1923, the inscription ANDREAS RÜHLE ZIMMERMAN referred to him . The threshold of the house is decorated with a strong ship's throat. There are parapet struts and profiled filler wood . The half-timbered figure of the half man can be seen on the eaves . The basement was renewed later.

The house at Brandgasse 4, which was also built in 1707 by Andreas Rühle, was adjacent to the house, but it has not been preserved.
