Adolf Brinkmann

Adolf Brinkmann (* 1854 ; † 1923 in Burg (near Magdeburg) ) was a German homeland researcher.

Life

Brinkmann worked as a teacher in Wernigerode from 1884 . This was followed by an activity in Roßleben and then in Quedlinburg . In 1892 he was transferred to Zeitz and finally in 1909 to Burg (near Magdeburg).

He dealt in particular with the history of art and architecture in his places of residence and regions in what is now Saxony-Anhalt and went public with various publications. He inventoried the architectural and art monuments of the district of Gardelegen , the Mansfeld lake and mountain district and the cities of Aschersleben and Quedlinburg. He mainly dealt with the history of half-timbered construction . In 1912 he published a scientific evaluation of the half-timbered buildings in the cities of Osterwieck and Hornburg . In 1914 he made the inventory for Quedlinburg, although this work was not printed until 1923. The first publication on Quedlinburg half-timbered buildings was published in 1894 in the Harzverein magazine . In his Quedlinburg work he built on the work of Hermann von Amsberg .
