history

The Brandlhof was founded in 1209 as the Mageria ( Meierhof ) of the Lilienfeld Abbey in a deed of foundation by Duke Leopold VI. mentioned. At the end of the 15th century the farm was divided into today's Brandlhof and Dienstlhof. The administration was carried out by a court master of the monastery based in Weinzirl near Krems on the Danube . In 1590 all houses in Radlbrunn were owned by the Lilienfeld Abbey. In 1620 the entire place was devastated by General Dampierre's troops . The badly damaged farm was sold by the monastery in 1629 to Conrad Höllrigl for 250 guilders. After several changes of ownership, the farm came to Simon Prändl (Brandl) through marriage in 1770, whose descendants managed the property for seven generations and gave it its name. In 1994 the last operators retired. In the absence of heirs, they handed the farm over to the market town of Ziersdorf .
