The Kultur.Region.Niederösterreich is the umbrella organization of cultural institutions in the Austrian state of Lower Austria .

tasks and goals

The non-profit GmbH based in Atzenbrugg , Tulln district , was founded in 2007. The partner is the Kultur.Region.Niederösterreich private foundation. The tasks of the Kultur.Region.Niederösterreich include the financial and administrative processing of the granting of funds for the state of Lower Austria in the areas of music schools , folk culture , museums and collections , advice and cultural mediation in the areas mentioned, the implementation of concerts, festivals and other events , the issuing of publications and sound carriers, as well as the operation of the museum village of Niedersulz. In 2018 the museum village of Niedersulz was spun off and integrated into the NÖKU. The aim of Kultur.Region.Niederösterreich is to offer applied cultural work, cultural mediation and cultural promotion of all kinds and regional culture at the highest level and to present Lower Austria as an open and modern cultural land . On July 1, 2018, Martin Lammerhuber was appointed sole managing director of Kultur.Region.Niederösterreich. The chairman of the supervisory board is Erwin Pröll .

  • The folk culture of Lower Austria GmbH , based in the House of Regions in Krems operates on the one hand the direct regional cultural work and cultural education, organizing festivals and takes over the financial management and administration of the grant award for projects in the field of folk culture and choir beings for the province of Lower Austria.
  • The Musikschulmanagement Niederösterreich GmbH , based in Atzenbrugg Castle, is entrusted with tasks in the areas of music school funding and music school pedagogy on the basis of a contract with the state of Lower Austria. This includes participating in the creation of the music school plan, advising music schools, holding special competitions such as “Prima La Musica”, and further educational and artistic development of music education in Lower Austria. The Lower Austria Choir Scene provides a platform for choir and ensemble singing in Lower Austria. The focus is on the training of choir leaders in all regions, the publication of specialist literature and sound carriers, the organization of the fortnightly program "vielstimmig" on Radio Niederösterreich and the quality-oriented development of vocal music .
  • The Museumsmanagement Niederösterreich GmbH with the office location St. Pölten documents and networks the museums, collections, exhibition houses, memorials and themed trails in Lower Austria.   • NÖ Kreativ  GmbH - operates the state's 78 creative academies, merged in 2018 with the Lower Austria music school management. The common field of work is the extracurricular creative and musical education of children and young people.
  • BhW Niederösterreich GmbH ("Education has value", formerly " Education and Heimatwerk Niederösterreich ") with the tasks of looking after, servicing and promoting the BhW Bildungswerke and the other BhW members. Development of educational offers to promote a new culture of relationships and learning in Lower Austria's municipalities.
